MyScienceWork, communication and collaboration platform and social network for researchers and scientists has just announced that they’ve raised $1.1 million, which brings the total amount they’ve raised thus far to $2.6 million. This new round will help to drive their expansion into new markets, particularly the US which is currently underway, and also help them to refine their commercial offer.

What MyScienceWork offers the research community first-and-foremost is open access to a vast range of over 30 million scientific publications. This richness of information also helps to stimulate knowledge exchange and collaboration on their scientific social network. In addition, they also offer researchers, students and journalists information on employment opportunities in the sector as well as a space focusing on science news for specialist and other science lovers. Since launching their platform last September, the team has been busily working on their premium offer which will be launched soon. They’re also working on an innovative social solution allowing universities and institutions to communicate and collaborate around their research results.

To help get a better foothold into the US, founders Virginie Simon and Tristan Davaille will be joining the Silicon Valley-based incubator Plug and Play starting this month.
