The Connected Conference

The Connected Conference, sponsored by SIGFOX, is excited to announce 5 new speakers at Europe’s 1st connected hardware conference, taking place June 18th-19th in the heart of Paris:

Luc Julia, co-founder of SRI and co-creator of Siri, currently working at Samsung on SAMI, the next evolution in Siri, will be opening up the conference as our keynote speaker, talking about the future of connected hardware, the internet of things, and the connected world. With HP, Apple & Samsung under his belt, not to mention a handful of successful startups, Julia most recently made headlines when he was listed among the 100 most influential French developers in technology in a report commissioned by the French government.

Gary Atkinson, Head of Emerging Technology at ARM, will be talking about how the Internet of Things & Connected Hardware will play a role in disrupting not just how your fridge tells you that you need more milk, but global challenges like access to clean water, communication in the 3rd world & more. He’ll also be sitting down with the Wall Street Journals’ Sam Schechner to talk about ARM’s strategy for remaining a leader as the connected hardware revolution comes into full swing.

Thomas Serval got everyone’s attention when he announced Kolibree, the connected toothbrush, at CES earlier this year. The former Google Executive* & serial entrepreneur will be revealing why sometimes a connected toothbrush isn’t just a connected toothbrush. My first impressions when I saw Kolibree were ‘doubtful’ to say the least; however, Serval sees the future of connected hardware, and is leveraging the data side of connected hardware better than any other player in the sector. He’s up against Proctor & Gamble, who also announced an Oral B connected toothbrush, so he’ll be talking with the Financial Times’ Hugh Carnegy about what it’s like to disrupt an industry with competition breathing down your back.

In addition to these new speakers, we’ve already announced great speakers like Archos CEO Loic Poirier, Apple’s former GM of Europe Pascal Cagni, Indiegogo’s Technology, Hardware & Design lead Kate Drane, SIGOX CEO Ludovic LeMoan (SIGFOX announced a €15 Million Series B last week) & Qualcomm’s head of Business Development in Europe Laurent Fournier.  We’ll be announcing the initial program in two weeks, along with our first exhibitors in our exhibition hall, and ticket prices go up on April 6th, so get your ticket today to save 200€!
