“Google Alerts on steroids” Mention now counts over 100,000 users (as of last night around 11:00PM, I’m told), and has celebrated the milestone by launching a revamped version of its media-monitoring service today. The community management service allows users to track traditional account activity, as well as keyword and competitors mentions.

Founded in 2012, Mention announced an $800K fundraising in March, which has clearly propelled their growth, and has enabled them to launch their enterprise edition. Ranging from $7 – $65/month, the enterprise plan includes sentimental analysis, exportable reports on your social media activity and mentions, as well as, for the Enterprise Plan, a collaborative team dashboard.
Mention is specifically hoping to target community managers of “Fortune 500 to Fortune 5,000,000 companies,” namely companies whose brand makes a lot of noise, and need to weed through the noise to know what people are actually saying about them.
If you haven’t tried Mention yet, it’s free for individuals, and for enterprise community managers, it might be worth weighing the features against Hootsuite, Sprout Social, or whatever you’re using today. Personally, I don’t use the reports or planning available to me on Hootsuite – but then again, Rude Baguette is mentioned a lot less than, say, Coca Cola.
