Lost me at gear box replacements……. How much did he pay for this car and what is it now worth in the second hand market? I’ll make a bet the money he has saved on gas has been more than offset by the depreciation and higher insurance costs. Plus, unless he is 100% off the grid, he is still using fossil fuels to charge the vehicle and last time I checked, whilst a lot cheaper than gas, electricity is not free.
