Closing its first day at €12,873 with a goal of €55,000 (reaching ≈25%), HAïKU, has a promising future.
Like a smartwatch, HAïKU is powered by your smartphone, which can remain safely in your pocket, and gives you a simple and safe access to all the information you need: GPS navigation, call and message notifications, in addition to speed and ride statistics.
The user interface is fully optimized to use on a bike in the city. A touchless sensor provides the rider access to information just by waving his hand over the device, and it works with winter gloves or under the rain. The set up on the handlebar is effortless thanks to a powerful magnetic dock, ignition and the connection with the smartphone are automatic. Connected with Bluetooth Low Energy, HAïKU uses the GPS of the smartphone and all ride statistics are saved in the cloud, with daily, monthly and yearly summaries available in the application. The real difference with existing accessories is that HAïKU has been designed from the start for urban cyclists.
Frédéric Martin, industrial designer and head of user experience explains: “information on a smartphone is abundant, the challenge is to sort and simplify to bring to the user only helpful information in a way that preserve safety. The rider keeps the control on when to access this information to avoid being distracted from the road.”
