SIGFOX raises €15 Million Series B to Connect the World

Toulouse-based startup SIGFOX has raised a €15 Million Series B from IDInvest, BPIFrance, and historical investors (Elaia Partners, Intel Capital, Partech International, etc.), who had previously invested a total of €12 Million; bringing the total funding to €27 Million: Founded by Ludovic Le Moan, formerly co-founder of Goojet (since defunct and re-branded as in 2009, the startup has been building, essentially, the cellular network to connect the internet of things.

Using long-range, low-energy communication networks, SIGFOX already has a network that would rival Free Mobile’s 3G network in France – that is, they cover the vast majority of the country. They have also since announced partnerships in Spain, the UK & Russia that have them connecting everything from trash cans to parking lots, making them the enablers of several Smart City initiatives.

SIGFOX, of course, is also the official sponsor of the Connected Conference, Europe’s 1st Connected Hardware conference, arriving June 18th-19th in Paris, with speakers from Apple, Samsung, Qualcomm, Indiegogo, &, of course, SIGFOX CEO Ludovic Le Moan.
