Google Store FNAC Montparnasse

This weekend, Google made a big step in France, opening up its first in-store retail location for Google products. The site, located inside of the large FNAC store at Montparnasse in Paris, can be seen in the photos shot by Google Product Marketing Manager Claire Stosskopf, who is in charge of Google’s “2014 strategic plan for all retail activities in France.”

Five months in the making, according to Stosskopf, the store features a variety of Google Chromebooks, Nexus Tablets/Phablets, and some extra Google accessories, as seen in the photos below.

While this represents a big move for Google in Paris, where Apple & Samsung both already have flagship stores and an expanding retail presence, it doesn’t quite stand up to what you would expect to see from Google (like a giant Paris apartment filled with Google accessories, for example).

Retail chain FNAC was likely more than willing to devote some of its space to Google, given that it has been shutting down major stores in Paris, due in part to Amazon’s outstanding success in the French market.
