Toulouse-based Internet of Things startup SIGFOX has appointed the former CEO of Areva, France’s largest provider of nuclear energy, as President of the company. Anne Lauvergeon will lead SIGFOX’s 60-person team as they continue on their mission to become a multinational telecom company dedicated to the Internet of Things, an objective the company has already made significant strides towards achieving.

SIGFOX raised €15 Million Series B earlier this year for its Machine to Machine (M2M) network, and is already active across multiple markets, with a fully equipped network in France & Spain, as well as an increasing activity in new markets like Russia and the UK.

It is still unclear how co-founder & CEO Ludovic LeMoan’s role will evolve, given Lauvergeon’s arrival; however, it is clear that the company has a global vision, and is staffing itself with people capable of executing on that vision.

SIGFOX is also the official sponsor of the Connected Conference, coming to Paris on June 18th-19th. Grab your ticket today to hear from CEO Ludovic Le Moan and see SIGFOX’s technology in action in our Exhibition Hall!
