Grenobile-based Xotelia, a startup focused on helping short-term apartment owners to manage listings across multiple platforms, has raised €1.3 Million from Newfund. The company currently allows owners to manage more than 50 platforms, including peer-to-peer sites (Airbnb, Housetrip, & Wimdu), as well as booking platforms (Expedia, Booking.com & Tripadvisor), syncrhonizing availabilities across different platforms.
With the new funds, the startup, which currently manages €3 Million in reservations per month, will be able to grow their team to 15 people, offering their service at a monthly subscription starting as low as 17€, depending on the number of listings & number of partners.
Personally, I think the product underscores the development of the Sharing Economy – there is a market for getting your real estate available to as many potential end-users as possible and, just like selling books or clothes, people want channel management.
I really hope Xotelia will use some of the money to re-work their very awful website (made with love by Jimdu); however, I think the value-added is clear.
