If your startup relates in any way to the music industry then this is for you. The accelerator program dedicated to the music industry and hosted by Midemlab is now accepting applications until November 7. This is the 7th edition of the start-up competition which takes place in Cannes next February 1-4.

In a nutshell, Midemlab is a top quality accelerator program specifically designed for the music industry. It’s very encompassing within the industry, so it welcomes start-ups that work with music discovery, recommendation and creation; marketing & social engagement, direct to consumer sales and content monetisation; and you can apply for any of these three categories.

The event gathers all sorts of people from the music industry, from music makers, developers with exciting technologies, investors, startups, big companies and hundreds of artists, which makes it the best place to talk about music innovation. Participants have the opportunity to get feedback from potential business partners, validate their model with the market and of course, interact with potential partners/clients which puts you in the fast track for launch day.

During the competition, thirty startups will be selected by Music Ally (a UK music business consulting company) and also bluenove (a French consultancy focused on Open Innovation). These startups will then pitch their ideas to the final jury composed of entrepreneurs, entertainment executives, venture capitalists and innovators within the industry. Some of the members of the jury are Jon Bradford (Managing Director at TechStars London), Harry Briggs (Principal at Balderton Capital), Heidi Browning (SVP Strategic Solutions at Pandora), and many other.

Companies that have been through this program include SoundClound, Songkick, and BandPage, to name a few. As usual, Vivendi will sponsor the event which of course ties well with it being a content-driven company, even more important is the recent spinoff of Vivendi which makes it a pure content company.

If you have an idea or a startup in this industry, apply for Midemlab today and get in the fast track for success.
