Throughout the month of August, the Rude Baguette will be running a series of interviews with some of France’s top and rising entrepreneurs, where they’ll share their reflections on their year thus far, their plans through the end of the year and how they manage their businesses through the August down period. In this installment, we talk with Allmyapps cofounder and CEO Thibauld Favre.

Another rising star in France’s Apps Discovery space is Allmyapps, the Windows PC app store. Founded in 2009, they’ve established themselves as the go-to place to “discover, install, update & sync PC apps.” We reported late last year on how they hit a big milestone with 400k+ monthly active users and 10k new registrations per day. In my catch-up with CEO Thibauld Favre, he underlined that they’ve already more than doubled their MAU numbers from last year and are planning on stepping things up even more.

allmyapps-thibauld-favreWhat have been the big accomplishments for Allmyapps since the beginning of the year?

2013 has been amazing for us so far: we’ve crossed the symbolic 1 million monthly active users threshold on Allmyapps v2 (launched in October last year) and turned the company cash-flow positive. It is a great reward for the team who has been very hard and focused at work, I am very proud of them.

What are your goals for the end of the year?

For the end of the year, our main focus is to continue growing our business at a fast pace. And to do so we are looking to hire several talented sales people before the end of the year.  So make sure to check-out our open posts here and stop by our table at next month’s Startup Job Fair if you’re interested!  We also started working on the next version of allmyapps… but there is nothing more I can say for now 🙂

What have you learned this year that you think every entrepreneur should know?

One of the thing I learned so far in 2013 is the incredible importance of knowing and communicating your core values. Most of the time, this aspect is overlooked (well at least *we* overlooked it…) but, at the end of the day, they are truly what bind your team together. So you’d better discover what your core values are as early as possible as it then becomes a very efficient tool, notably to minimize your recruitment risks.

How does your company handle vacation & the August down period?

August is a month like any other at allmyapps. Some people take vacation but most of the team is working. Business also does not stop as nearly all our revenues are made outside of France. I will even be attending a conference in the US starting on August 18th… on a Sunday! I guess sometimes I wish the world would be more French in its approach to doing business in August 🙂
