Techstars has been one of the most successful accelerators in bringing their program to different cities throughout the US and now in Europe. In the last couple years, Techstars’ expansion strategy has taken a interesting turn as they’ve partnered with corporates to build out several vertical accelerators around areas such as entertainment (Disney), mobility (Ford, Magna, and Verizon), Robotics (Qualcomm), Fintech (Barclays), Sports (Nike), etc. They’ve expanded into hospitality and food tech with the launch of their Berlin-baesed Techstars METRO accelerator which they’ve launched in conjunction with wholesaler and retailer giant METRO and digital agency R/GA.

The program kicks off in Berlin in October and offers intensive mentoring and unprecedented access to the resources of one of the world’s largest hospitality and retail companies. Similar several of their other programs, they’ll accept up to 10 companies each cohort over a period of 3 months and each selected startup will receive up to up to €120,000 in investment capital.

If you’re a food tech or hospitality startup and want to learn more about Techstars METRO, the Techstars team will be holding a launch event this Wednesday the 13th at 18h at NUMA. You can sign-up to attend here.
