The event focuses on educating students about the startup ecosystem, while bringing students from different backgrounds together to find internships, meet startup icons, and learn about startup problems. The group just announced their upcoming event, which will\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/mashupparis.eventbrite.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">take place July 24th<\/a>, and will be centered around Guy Kawasaki&#8217;s &#8220;The Art of the Pitch.&#8221;<br \/>\nKicking off the event as usual will be a fireside chat with Annabelle Roberts, a pitching coach, and Cedric Ingrand, LCI&#8217;s tech journalist. The event allows startups who consist of at least one student founder to apply to pitch &#8211; the sign-ups and voting are done via the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/fanpage.mashup\/app_181363808619669\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mash Up Facebook page<\/a>. While currently the only signed up startup is LeCamping&#8217;s\u00a0<a title=\"Here are the Six Open Data Winners of Etalab\u2019s Dataconnexions Contest\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rudebaguette.com\/2012\/05\/29\/dataconnexions\/\">WebShell<\/a>, I&#8217;m sure there will be more startups flying up there soon. While the winner of the event doesn&#8217;t win any particular prize, much like the monthly\u00a0<a title=\"StartInParis: What it is and what it could be.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rudebaguette.com\/2012\/01\/16\/startinparis\/\">Start In Paris<\/a>\u00a0series, it does offer young startups the chance to pitch an audience of potential early adopters.<br \/>\nFor startups, this event is a great place to find your next intern &#8211; where else will you find a\u00a0student so willing to work for cheap that he&#8217;ll spend his Monday night at a networking event?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Le Mash Up has long since been a favorite event of mine.
