{"id":27874,"date":"2015-01-05T10:20:31","date_gmt":"2015-01-05T09:20:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rudebaguette.com\/?p=27874"},"modified":"2015-01-05T10:20:31","modified_gmt":"2015-01-05T09:20:31","slug":"withings-activite-pop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rudebaguette.com\/en\/2015\/01\/withings-activite-pop\/","title":{"rendered":"Withings $150 Activit\u00e9 Pop &#8211; a smartwatch for the price of an activity tracker"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-27875 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rudebaguette.com\/assets\/pop-3-4-face-compo-hd-e1420430672942.jpg\" alt=\"pop-3-4-face-compo-hd\" width=\"900\" height=\"510\" \/><br \/>\nAmong the\u00a0first big announcements coming out of CES this year is that Withings is releasing a low-cost version of its quantified-self smartwatch the Activit\u00e9, which <a title=\"Withings brings together \u201cconnected\u201d and \u201cfashion\u201d inside a smart watch\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rudebaguette.com\/2014\/06\/25\/withings-brings-together-connected-fashion-inside-smart-watch\/\">launched last June<\/a>, cutting the $450 watch down to $150 in a new, less luxury style.<br \/>\nIn its category, Withings&#8217; Activit\u00e9 Pop\u00a0will pose a major threat to Fitbit-esque activity bands, while giving those who aren&#8217;t willing to go full Smartwatch an alternative that looks something like Swatch made a scuba-diving watch.<br \/>\nActivit\u00e9 Pop&#8217;s key feature is that,\u00a0within its watch-like face, an addition hand\u00a0shows you the percentage of your daily fitness objectives. The advantage of the watch is that it is not just an activity tracker &#8211; for those who already wear watches, Withings offers a daily product that you won&#8217;t put down after three weeks, while adding a nice &#8216;smart meter&#8217; inside the traditional face.<br \/>\nWithings established itself as a force to be reckoned with in the quantified health space in 2014 &#8211; <a title=\"Reduce your Health Insurance bill by tracking steps with wearables\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rudebaguette.com\/2014\/06\/02\/reduce-health-insurance-bill-tracking-steps-wearables\/\">partnering with Insurance companies<\/a>,\u00a0with a product line-up that include watches, pedometers &amp; scales that measure physical fitness as well as blood pressure.
