Former LeCamping Season 5 startup<\/a>\u00a0Tripndrive\u00a0has raised \u20ac800K from ISAI<\/a>, with participation by David Botvinik, Christophe Poupinel, and\u00a0Antoine de Rochefort, the company announced this week.\u00a0Launched in 2013, Tripndrive\u00a0is fighting in a competitive car-sharing market; however, they’ve\u00a0focused on Airport drop-off’s and pickup’s, grabbing departing traveller’s cars and renting them out to arriving tourists.<\/p>\n

The concept itself is quite interesting – for\u00a0car-owners, Tripndrive offers free airport parking, and for travelers, a standard car rental service.\u00a0With respect\u00a0to leading car-rental agencies – Europcar, Hertz, Enteprise, et al. – Tripndrive has less overhead (they don’t buy the cars, and they\u00a0seemingly don’t pay car owners), and they can rent out at competitive prices using flexible parking arrangements.<\/p>\n

Their lead investor, ISAI, notably was among the first\u00a0investors in Blablacar<\/a>, the ride-sharing giant which is currently dominating Europe, and, soon, the world.\u00a0ISAI must be hoping that Tripndrive will have the same impact on the car rental market as\u00a0Blablacar has had on the long-distance bus\/train travel market.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
