Since then, the company has made several acquisitions &#8211; <a title=\"Criteo acquires Tedemis for \u20ac21 Million in its first acquisition post-IPO\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rudebaguette.com\/2014\/02\/20\/criteos-first-post-ipo-acquisition-tedemis-forecasts-email-advertising\/\">Tedemis<\/a>, <a title=\"Criteo acquires AD-X, seals up the one concern around their IPO: Mobile Ad Tracking.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rudebaguette.com\/2013\/07\/15\/criteo-acquires-ad-x-seals-up-the-one-concern-around-their-ipo-mobile-ad-tracking\/\">Ad-X<\/a> (just before the IPO), \u00a0<a title=\"Criteo acquires AdQuantic to bring its retargeting technology to Search\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rudebaguette.com\/2014\/04\/11\/criteo-acquires-adquantic\/\">AdQuantic<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; and has <a title=\"Why Criteo is getting punished by Wall Street\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rudebaguette.com\/2014\/08\/11\/criteo-2nd-quarter-earning-results\/\">faced\u00a0some Ups and Downs on Wall Street<\/a>. There was a <a title=\"After failed Omnicom merger, Publicis could acquire Criteo\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rudebaguette.com\/2014\/09\/01\/criteo-publicis\/\">rumor\u00a0of a Publicis acquisition<\/a> which died down, and now earlier this week ComScore announced that <a title=\"Criteo ads reach nearly one billion users worldwide each month\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rudebaguette.com\/2014\/10\/27\/criteo-ads-reach-virtually-one-billion-users-worldwide\/\">Criteo was touching nearly 1 Billion users per month<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>There have also been many changes within the team, which is entirely normal for a technology company.\u00a0It requires a different set of skills to pilot a public company than to build a private one.<\/p>\n<p>What got Paris excited about Criteo&#8217;s IPO was the idea that the wealth generated by the VCs and Key Executives involved would trickle down, multiply within the ecosystem, and create the next generation of startups.<\/p>\n<p>Before we talk about who&#8217;s left, let&#8217;s look at who&#8217;s still around:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Jean-Baptiste Rudelle (CEO &amp; co-founder)<\/li>\n<li>Romain Nicolli (CTO &amp; co-founder)<\/li>\n<li>Jonathan Wolf (Chief Product Officer)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Without further ado &#8211; let&#8217;s see where the key team are today (their title at Criteo at the time of the IPO in parantheses).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Franck le Ouay<\/strong> (<strong>Chief Scientist &amp; Co-founder<\/strong>) &#8211; I last ran into Franck at the\u00a0fall edition of the <a href=\"http:\/\/paris.foundersevent.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Paris Founders Event<\/a>, where he seemed quite happy and relaxed. It turns out, earlier this month, Franck left Criteo (along with Romain Nicolli, Franck was one of the original co-founders, starting out in 2005), and is working on a new project, which we&#8217;ll likely here more about at the January edition of #PFE.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Greg Coleman (President)<\/strong> &#8211; the resident American on the executive team, Coleman&#8217;s\u00a0previous role at AOL was essential when he was brought on board at Criteo&#8217;s NY office to help pilot the IPO. Today, <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.wsj.com\/cmo\/2014\/08\/05\/digital-media-veteran-greg-coleman-jumps-from-criteo-to-buzzfeed-president\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Coleman&#8217;s jumped ship as President of\u00a0Buzzfeed<\/a>, the media outlet which <a href=\"http:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2014\/08\/10\/buzzfeed-raises-50-million-dollars-from-andreessen-horowitz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recently raised $50 Million<\/a>\u00a0to scale\u00a0its sponsored content technology &#8211; I&#8217;m sure Coleman&#8217;s experience at Criteo will play a key role here.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pascal Gauthier<\/strong> (<strong>COO<\/strong>) &#8211; Pascal Gauthier has also left Criteo, and is currently Entrepreneur in Residence at Index Ventures.\u00a0Among other roles, he&#8217;s an advisor for\u00a0Teads, a video AdTech company <a title=\"AdTech M&amp;A: Ebuzzing to merge with Teads. Next stop, IPO.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rudebaguette.com\/2014\/03\/24\/ebuzzing-announce-merger-teads-next-stop-ipo\/\">which has billed itself as the next Criteo<\/a>. Gauthier is also working on a few projects of his own, one of which is aptly named &#8220;Challenger Deep.&#8221; He&#8217;s been joined by former Developer lead\u00a0Vincent de Lagabbe as CTO &amp; co-founder.<\/p>\n<h4>Beyond the Executive Team&#8230;<\/h4>\n<p>In addition to\u00a0these key players, we&#8217;re also seeing other high-level team members launching new companies, like\u00a0Maxime Agostini, who launched <a href=\"http:\/\/rudelist.com\/alephd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AlephD<\/a>, which raised \u20ac2 Million from Partech International last November.<\/p>\n<p>Formerly <strong>VP of Engineering at Criteo,\u00a0Julien Simon<\/strong> since went on to be CTO at Aldebaran Robotics, but has jumped ship to Viadeo as of this month as their new CTO.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nicolas Messelet (Product Manager, Publishing Platform)<\/strong> has gone on to be a Product Manager for<a title=\"Pre-targeting startup Ezakus totals 4.7M\u20ac in funding from IDInvest, sets sights on London &amp; New York\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rudebaguette.com\/2013\/09\/23\/pre-targeting-startup-ezakus-totals-4-7me-in-funding-from-idinvest-sets-sights-on-london-new-york\/\"> Ezakus, the pre-targetting\u00a0advertising company<\/a>\u00a0which has\u00a0raised nearly \u20ac5 Million to date.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Benoit Portoleau (Head of Central Sales)<\/strong>\u00a0has gone on to\u00a0become\u00a0co-founder &amp; COO at <a href=\"http:\/\/alkemics.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alkemics<\/a>, a startup leveraging big data to deliver valuable product data to the FMCG (Fast-moving consumer goods) market.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Clement (Product &amp; Marketing Manager)\u00a0<\/strong>has gone on to become Partnership Director at Lengow.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tristan Croiset (Senior Software Engineer)\u00a0<\/strong>has moved on and co-founded <a href=\"http:\/\/karos.fr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Karos<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ugo Jardonnet (R&amp;D Engineer)\u00a0<\/strong>has gone on to head up the Paris office for <a title=\"Here are New York City\u2019s 10 Hottest French Startups \u2013 2014 Edition\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rudebaguette.com\/2014\/09\/09\/new-york-citys-10-hottest-french-startups-2014-edition\/\">Placemeter<\/a>, one of <a title=\"Here are New York City\u2019s 10 Hottest French Startups \u2013 2014 Edition\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rudebaguette.com\/2014\/09\/09\/new-york-citys-10-hottest-french-startups-2014-edition\/\">NYC&#8217;s hottest French startups<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tom Triscari (Director, Publisher Marketplace &amp; Business Intelligence)\u00a0<\/strong>is now CEO of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/yieldr.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Yieldr<\/a>, a solution for programmatic advertisers.<\/p>\n<h4>&#8230;and so many more<\/h4>\n<p>There are undoubtedly handfuls of other Criteo team members who have gone on to do other great things in the startup world:\u00a0launching new companies, bringing their experience to a new company, investing in new companies. It&#8217;s only been 12 months since the IPO, and I imagine that when it&#8217;s been 5 years, we&#8217;ll have a more complete picture of the impact that Criteo has had on the European Tech Scene.<\/p>\n<p><em>If you&#8217;d like us to add someone to this list, comment below (ideally with former title, current title, and linkedin profile URL).
