After a first round of voting, the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences (IADAS), who also organize the well-known Webby awards, have just announced the finalists of their Europe-focused Lovie Awards<\/a>. To make sure that web innovation coming out of Europe gets properly acknowledge and rewarded, the Lovie Awards was created 4 years ago and honors the best of the best in digital across Websites, Online Advertising, Internet Video, Social and Mobile Apps. Although IADAS members will select the winners in several categories, a big highlight of the awards is the People\u2019s Lovie Award, which is awarded based on votes of Europe\u2019s internet and tech community.<\/p>\n Although there are many big names that you\u2019d expect to see on the list, such as Souncloud, Vimeo, Wired, and ASOS, there are various smaller companies, web design agencies, media companies, brands, etc. from all across Europe who\u2019ve made it to the final round. While the finalists comprise a solid\u00a0cross-section of European countries, with 17 European countries represented, France is particularly well-represented in this year\u2019s pool, with \u00a0\u00a020 entries making it into the finals.<\/p>\n In speaking about how Europe has evolved in the web space, Academy Chair for European IADAS members, Nicolas Roope adds:<\/p>\n \u201cThis year\u2019s finalists really start to show the promise of Europe as a connected society where our social interactions help shape and enable so much of our daily life. We are excited to share these outstanding works from across the reion and see which ones the public will choose as Lovie Winners.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
