Mention&#8217;s founding team consists of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/edelajonquiere\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Edouard de la Jonqui\u00e8re<\/a>(CEO)\u00a0&amp;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/arnaud_lb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Arnaud Le Blanc<\/a>(CTO),as well as the <a href=\"http:\/\/e-founders.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">eFounders<\/a> team, which notably includes former Fotolia CEO Thibaud Elzi\u00e8re. According to the announcement, Mention, whose competitors include <a href=\"\/tag\/Hootsuite\">Hootsuite<\/a> and other 3rd party social media apps, currently has 50,000 users, and plans to use this first round of funding to launch in the US.<\/p>\n<p>Available on <a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/mention-for-iphone\/id535505237?mt=8&amp;uo=4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">iPhone<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=net.mention.android\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Android<\/a>, Mention lets you track various keywords, receive alerts when keywords are mentioned on the web, and provides social media analytics &#8211; in short, it&#8217;s Google Analytics for Social. The app has a Free Plan, which allows you to receive up to 500 mentions per month with a one month history stored, and a Pro Plan with up to 50,000 mentioned per month for just 19,99$\/month. They also offer a &#8220;Team Plan.&#8221; Mention hasn&#8217;t communicated much on what its conversion rate is for users from Free to Premium, but I imagine it falls in line with the rest of the freemium services, so we can imagine they&#8217;ve got around 500(~1%) premium users paying at least 20$ per month.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">First investment for Alven Capital IV ! <a href=\"http:\/\/t.co\/TSe1apq2Rl\">http:\/\/t.co\/TSe1apq2Rl<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Alven (@alvencap) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/alvencap\/status\/311918810565341185?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">March 13, 2013<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>While the startup has not yet annoucned the fundraising officially on its blog of via press release, Alven Capital&#8217;s twitter account confirmed the fundraising, and also added that this is the first investment they are making with <a title=\"Alven Capital close to closing their 120 million euro fourth fund\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rudebaguette.com\/2013\/03\/08\/alven-capital-iv\/\">Alven Capital IV, their latest fund which they are in the process of securing<\/a>. In addition, this is a great example of one of Germany&#8217;s newest and most active funds investing cross-border. Ciaran O&#8217;Leary recently posted to his personal blog, <a href=\"http:\/\/berlinvc.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">berlinvc.com<\/a>, a post regarding EarlyBird&#8217;s latest fund (where he is a VC) and how <a href=\"http:\/\/berlinvc.com\/2013\/03\/11\/no-more-borders-some-stats-from-our-latest-fund\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">borders are slowly disappearing in his fund<\/a>.
