Geo-localized mobile shopping networking Plyce has raised €1.5 Million from Caloga & BpiFrance, the startup announcing last week. The funding, which comes on top of a 2011 $850K seed round raised from Orkos Capital, Jaina Capital & others. Founded in 2010 by Bruno Massiet du Biest, Mickaël Arias & Paul Wourlod, the startup today has shifted focus towards “drive to store” on mobile, enabling mobile shoppers to order on the go.

Who said that Social-Local-Mobile was dead?

While SoLoMo may have been hyped in 2011, the fact remains that users continue to spend hours a day on their mobile phones, and an increasing percentage of online activity is becoming mobile-first, due to adjusting user habits. One of the largest drivers – especially in France – is Shopping 2.0, or “Social Shopping.”

Plyce has carved out an interesting space here, working with partners like Marie Claire, SFR, Cosmopolitan & Marmiton, and it will be interesting to see how they advance in this space.
