Yesterday, we wrapped up a promising Summer Edition of #ParisFounders: 250+ startupers, tech enthusiasts, investors and journalists came out last night at Université Paris Dauphine, to discover the hottest new startups and innovations Paris has to offer.
Among the 40 startups that applied, we selected 4 who took the stage to launch their products. The evening revolved around 4 main areas: e-commerce, tech, content and developing countries.

Tech

DCbrain: the GoogleMap of IoT. DCbrain transforms physical flows into value. They give energy and cooling teams the simplest and most intelligent web interface to manage their data centers buildings by integrating all the sensors inside thanks to graphs and machine learning.
This helps Data centers and Campus operational managers to run and optimize their buildings by providing them with systemic view of their systems by displaying a dynamic map of all the physical flows (energy, chilled water, heat …) and dynamic expert dashboards.
In this way, they can focus on their real business instead of wasting time collecting partial information, correlating data with excel and waiting for “the guy who knows this stuff” to call back.
Jerome Petazzoni, Docker’s Extraordinaire Tinkerer, joined us on stage to talk about Docker’s success, community and upcoming projects, followed by Famoco presentation of their Android-based NFC reader (which just raised 4 million euros).

Ecommerce

Cabin(e): Currently available in Paris, Cabin(e) brings you the coolest designer shoes to your feet in one hour. Buying online is really easy, but you still face four main issues: The lack of advice, the delivery time, the return policies and processes, and the fact that you are paying upfront for something you haven’t even tried yet.On cabine.fr you choose several pairs of shoes among the best designer brands, and a “chausseur privé” will deliver you the shoes in several sizes within one hour. You will only pay for the shoes you want to keep and if nothing pleases you it is totally free. Currently available in Paris.
Thierry Petit, CEO and Co-founder of Showroomprive and renowned Business Angel discussed with us about e-commerce, volume creation, and the importance of strong IT, resilience and international outlook when building a business.

Content

Gorgias: Customer support teams respond to a ton of repetitive messages every day. Usually, support people create templates for these frequent requests. But using template is not so easy: you need to know all your templates by heart, which you never do, and to choose the right template every time you need it, which takes time. Gorgias solves this problem by suggesting automatically what to respond to a repetitive email, making it easy to respond to your customers’ repetitive emails, thanks to machine learning.
#ParisFounders Alumnus and CEO of Wisemetrics, Stephane Allard, gave us insights about his latest acquisition by Augure. Caroline Baron, Marketing Manager of Augure, stressed the importance of using data to influence engagement.

Developing Countries

CityTaps: A water meter designed to solve the “last mile” problem of bringing piped water to homes by making water utility services affordable for the urban poor. Their technology pioneers seamless integration between connected objects; with their pay-as-you-go water meters and mobile money networks. CityTaps enables the poor to overcome payment barriers by making micro-prepayments for piped water at home, at any time, with any mobile phone. This also allows water utilities to access new revenue streams with confidence by eliminating the costs of billing and delinquencies. With greater certainty on their investment returns, utilities are able to grow their network infrastructure faster.
A special thanks goes to our official partners, BNP ParibasOrange Fab France, CrossroadOtium Capital, and to our media partners AmCham and Next Women France, for constantly supporting us and to all the attendees that made the networking cocktail so enjoyable.
This #ParisFounders edition was more intimate but the next one will be massive, we have big surprises for you, so stay tuned!
