INNOV8 acquires Ascendeo to create leading connected objects retail outlets in Europe

INNOV8, top European retail channel for smartphones and connected objects, has acquired Ascendeo, leader in the conception and distribution of smartphone accessories. Connected devices will the the principal focus, as the two plan to build on their €358M in revenues to create the top retail channel in Europe for connected objects.
INNOV8 has already shown their acumen in creating high-end retail experience for connected and other technology devices with the launch of their LICK concept stores, of which they already have 17 in France.  INNOV8 will draw on their first experience with LICK, their strength in making the important link between smartphones and  connected objects, and Ascendeo’s in smartphone accessories, to create an end-to-end connected object shopping experience.  Ascendeo also has a footprint outside France, particularly in Spain via Ascendeo Iberia, so this deal will also INNOV8 to expand elsewhere in Europe.
Their goal of creating the European retail destinations for connected objects, is also one that appeals to their client distributors as well. With telco operators, e-commerce sites, hypermarkets, and others all developing different services and/or products that fall in the IoT space, having a player who knows how to create the type of retail experience required to engage and entice consumers to this ever-growing category, is something that ultimately benefits various types of market participants.
