Each year the entertainment industry’s leading conference on everything having to do with TV, Reed Midem’s MIPTV holds a competition just for startups called MIPCube. Heralded as the the one and only B2B startup competition for tech companies offering television and online video solutions, MIPCube which has only existed for four years, already has an impressive winners list, including Dailymotion. With just under a few weeks until the big event, the organizers of the competition have announced the 5 selected finalists that will be presenting at next month’s MIPTV in Cannes.

As last year, France is represented amongst the finalists, with one French startup included this year – TVTY.  TVTY partners with ad networks, trading desks, media agencies, ad servers and DSPs to concentrate media firepower. The company specializes in real-time data for the online advertising industry via their technology which monitors TV channels, detects TV ads and triggers online campaigns in real-time. Using their solutions, clients can sync their online campaigns with TV ads to increase the reach and efficiency of their brands message or counter-attack online in real-time competitors’ ads as they appear on TV. They already have an impressive and growing client base, including such heavyweights as Microsoft and Nespresso (Nestle).

Amongst this year’s finalists, Australia (MyCastingNet), the US (New Velocity Media and Parrot Analytics), and the UK (Grabyo) are also represented. Of course the finalists will be pitching in front of superstar jury comprised of entertainment powerhouses as Sony Pictures Television, France Televisions, and A&E Television Networks.
