OPD Paris

As part of their Open Pitch Days International Tour, Startupbootcamp is coming to Paris to allow startups to get feedback from their mentor network and the accelerator program directors. The event is being co-hosted alongside The Family, the Paris accelerator started by the former LeCamping director & EIR. The event is being hosted on April 10th in a Parisian Apartment at 34 rue de Poitou, Paris 75003. Startup interested in Startupbootcamp’s Berlin Program are particularly invited to apply for the event.

On the announcement page, Startupbootcamp describes and event as follows:

Open Pitch Days are informal events where startups can pitch their companies to Startupbootcamp and experienced mentors. The aim is to add value to all startups pitching by providing instant feedback, and to find top-notch startups relevant for the Startupbootcamp accelerator programs. The Open Pitch Days are therefore also used as part of our screening process. In addition, all teams chosen to take part in Open Pitch Days are awarded with $250 AWS credits courtesy of our Global Open Pitch Days partner Amazon.

For Paris startups looking to join an accelerator program, Startupbootcamp has got some pretty attractive numbers. With 75% of alumni going on to raise capital, their 3-month program, which offers free co-working space and “160K€ worth of deals” ( I assume that means no money, and some basic cloud help like Amazon Web Services, one of their sponsors.

Their official mentor list falls a bit short when it comes to French mentors, so hopefully this means that they’ll either be bringing in some outside help or they’ll be looking to integrate into the Paris community a bit more. SeedCamp’s Paris event has been quite successful in the past, brining both great startups and great mentors. While Startupbootcamp doesn’t exactly compete with Seedcamp, they’re certainly after the same slice of European pie. I’ll be coming to the event on the 10th, so if you’re thinking of applying, do so today and pitch me on the 10th.
